Outside the city centre

An art and cultural centre located just by the King’s residence, Gamlehaugen at Paradis in Bergen.

Rasmussen Samlingene (previously known as Rekstensamlingene) is a unique gallery and cultural centre. The collections were built in the 1960s by shipowner Hilmar Reksten and was to be a home of the arts. The venue has hosted masterclasses during the Festival for many years. 

Accessibility

  • Wheelchair access: Limited access. Access is difficult for the mobility impaired, stairs up to the venue makes it difficult to access. There is room for wheelchairs in the venues, so please contact Rekstensamlingene in advance.

  • Accessible toilet: No.

  • Facilities for reduced hearing: No.

Transport

  • We encourage our audience to leave the car at home and use public transportation to Troldhaugen.

  • The closest light rail stop is Paradis, with a 15-minute walk, or Fantoft with a 17-minute walk. You can also go by bus to Fjøsangerlokket, with a 10-minute walk to the arena. Find relevant time tables at skyss.no.

  • By car, take E39 south from the city centre (towards Stavanger). Take the exit to Paradis, and then take the exit to the left onto Statsminister Michelsens veg.
