Dance

A work team consisting of six dancers and three large painted canvases.
KNØ is a dance performance by Berstad/Holden/Becker, with music composed by Stine Janvin. Inspired by the idea that people's way of being in the world is primarily sustained by activities such as gathering, carrying, holding, and sharing, KNØ takes a physical approach with touch, folds, lifts, strokes, grasps, pushes, leaning, song, and breathing, in and out of sync. With backs and knees capable of different loads, the work is kneaded forward by voices and bodies collectively.
The performance seeks beyond the theatrical space, to more natural spaces, where people meet, and where work happens. KNØ saw its world premiere in the autumn of 2023, and this is the first time the performance is being staged outdoors. Signe Becker was last seen in Bergen with the performance Over ævne at Meteor 2023. Paintings from this performance will be a part of KNØ.
