Grieg from the street.
The breakdancers from the Bergen-based crew Absence have been inspired by Edvard Grieg's musical universe through dance and movement. They bring classical music paired with explosive physical expressions to the Festival square.
Absence are five dancers who specialise in spectacular stage shows with physical feats. They compete internationally in breaking and have won numerous awards. This new Grieg performance marks the crew's 25th anniversary.
The dance crew is joined by musician and composer Kato Ådland from Bergen. Based on citations from Edvard Grieg's music, Ådland has created a soundtrack that explores phases and emotions throughout Grieg's life.
