Portrait of a composer and double bass-player.
Inga Margrete Aas is a composer, improviser, and double bass-player working in the fields of experimental and contemporary music. As a composer, she explores the intersection of acoustic music and experimental music theatre with philosophical undertones. As a musician, she is part of the improvisation duo Vilde&Inga and the chamber orchestra Ensemble Allegria, which also has a concert at this year's Festival.
This concert offers a chance to experience all facets of her artistry. The program includes improvisation on double bass, excerpts from Bach's violin sonata, and two of Aas's own works: Renters rente – a radio recitative – and a world premiere commissioned for Premiere, the Festival’s programme for young composers.
