Balkan Fest with Igor & the Union of Cousins

Next event:

Lopsided rhythms and playful lyrics.

Igor Dunderovic is a Norwegian-Bosnian producer who along with his seven "cousins" is known for flipping Norwegian national treasures on their head and calling attention to immigration issues in a humorous way. Fetterforeningen (The Society for Male Cousins) is a combination of good friends and professional musicians who love Norway and irregular Balkan rhythms. Their albums feature satirical interpretations of traditional Norwegian songs such as Kråkevisa, Håvard Hedde and Gikk meg over sjø og land. Dunderovic was a semi-finalist in Norway's Got Talent in 2012 together with "cousin" Elvis Medic, and has since been a regular feature on the Norwegian afternoon TV show Ettermiddagen on TV 2.

In their own unique way, Igor and his "cousins" take us through a landscape of Norwegian songs that they have previously performed on Good Morning Norway on TV2, and on TV channels NRK 1, 2 and 3 as well as most other places. If they are in a good mood, there will be fast dancing and Balkan partying that lasts for hours. If they are in a bad mood, there may be slow and beautiful music and nostalgic melancholy that lasts for weeks.
