In 2023, cellist Amalie Stalheim launched Classical Link, an initiative that provides emerging classical artists with a platform for further development on their way to a professional music career. The musicians work closely with young composers, and the ambition is to build a bridge between different musical eras, extending to contemporary music expressions.
Stalheim herself is a mentor in Classisk Link. In 2023, Ariane Jebsen (violin) and Balder Hella Mikkelsen (cello) participated in workshops and masterclasses that led to a festival concert. In 2024, Martha-Pil Neumer (violin), Inger Margrethe Furre Thommesen (viola), and Sophie Kauer (cello) were handpicked for the program, and in 2025, Alexandra de Sousa Peral (violin), Andreas Morgan Grimstad (viola) and Alejandro Gomez Pareja (cello) will take the stage.
Previously, American Missy Mazzoli and Norwegian Therese Ulvo have led workshops and masterclasses for the young composers in Classisk Link. In 2025, Norwegian Ørjan Matre will mentor the participants in collaboration with Amalie Stalheim.
