Opening celebration in Spissen and wherever you are.

Welcome to the opening of the 69th Bergen International Festival! This year's festival edition can be experienced from the concert hall, and a number of events will also be available to stream so that you can both see and listen from home or from wherever you may be.

The opening ceremony gathers both an audience in Spissen – the decorated foyer in Grieghallen – as well as a worldwide audience joining the event online. The opening ceremony is a grand experience which includes speeches and artistic highlights.

The programme contains artistic elements, speeches and of course the traditional singing of Nystemten and the Norwegian national anthem. Award-winning trumpet player Tine Thing Helseth will host the event, and the programme includes pianist Christian Ihle Hadland and musicians from the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra

We welcome you to the beginning of 15 days of festivities, foundations and friction!
