He has performed as a piano soloist on more than forty occasions with major orchestras including the Aurora, the BBC Philharmonic and the China National Symphony Orchestras. His impressively broad repertoire ranges from Bach to Ligeti. His film credits include playing Jóhann Jóhannsson's piano music in The Theory of Everything (2014), Oscar-nominated for best film music.
In November 2020 Tom Poster received the Royal Philharmonic Society's new Inspiration Award with his wife Elena Urioste for their project #UriPosteJukeBox, consisting of more than 88 home-produced music videos. The project aimed to keep their their minds sharp, fingers busy, and community smiling during the pandemic.
