As this year's artist-in-residence, the Kronos Quartet participated at the outdoors opening ceremony, performed a family concert in an aquarium and chamber concert in the medieval royal hall Håkonshallen. The four musicians also took part in a talk and workshops.
The 70th Bergen International Festival ended with a fantastic evening in Grieghallen with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Roomful of Teeth, Edward Gardner and Paul Lewis.
In Ultimate Bach Movement Marathon, Danish cellist Toke Møldrup performed Bach's 6 Suites for Cello and ran a kilometer between each movement. He performed 36 movements in 36 kilometers together with a sporty audience of 29 people in a Bergen bathed in sunshine.
Grammy winner Angélique Kidjo has accomplished status as one of the greatest names in world music. 01 June she performed her sixteenth album Mother Nature and other treats from her impressive catalogue in Grieghallen.
