Father, son and daughter on cello, violin and piano.
Under the name Maisky Trio the cellist Mischa Maisky, his violinist son Sascha and his pianist daughter Lily have performed professionally together since 2006. They are all established musicians in their own right, but the energy that ensues when they perform as a trio is striking. The trio with its tight family bonds has toured three continents.
During his long career Mischa Maisky has performed alongside numerous eminent musicians, conductors and orchestras, but he holds the experience of standing on stage with his children as exceptional.
'Forming a family trio with my children has been the dream of my life,' says the cellist.
The programme for this concert in Håkonshallen showcases music by Rachmaninov, Shostakovich, Schumann and Brahms.
