Nordic string players in Ole Bull’s home.
Cellist Hugo Svedberg and violinists Annissa Gybel and Helga Diljá Jörundsdóttir are young, award-winning rising stars from the Nordic countries. This afternoon, they will perform some of Ole Bull’s gems, discovered just a few years ago in drawers and cupboards at his old house in Valestrand, often called ‘Bullahuset’.
The three are all participants in Voksenåsen’s mentor programme for young string musicians. They are joined by Sebastian Egebakken Svenøy, winner of the Norwegian Soloist Prize 2024, who also has a recital at Siljustøl during the Festival.
At the beginning of the concert, there will be a short tour of the unique villa in Valestrand, led by father and son Harald and Peter Herresthal, who will also be hosts during the concert.
